Talent Demand Bulletin: Technology

DC Metro Edition

System Analyst Demand Increases in Government, Healthcare, Financial Services

Within this publication, CDI will provide insights about those companies within the DC metro who have an elevated appetite for IT talent. This is intended to be a quick read for HR and IT executives within the IT Services industry.

On April 1st, we reported that advertisements for IT jobs within DC had fallen about 11% vs. the previous 30 days. That decline has ebbed somewhat, with the number of newly advertised jobs still falling, but at a lesser rate –4% overall. Despite this continued but abating decline, advertised demand for one segment, Computer Systems Analysts, is up by 9.2% in the past month. This demonstrates that some DC-based companies are devoting significant IT resources to assessing their or their clients’ systems, networks, software and security protocols.

The increased demand for this skillset could contribute to lower resource availability and wage inflation in this category over the short-term. Having a staffing partner with the experience to meet these moving targets may mean the difference between meeting your project demands and schedules, or not.

A few of the companies competing for talented Computer Systems Analysts, over the past month are:
